Free WI-FI Campaign - Update

An astonishing 36273 of you signed up to the free WI-FI campaign. So with the hefty petition in hand The Gadget Show contacted the government. But they refused it as well! They said that because they are a television programme they couldn't submit the petition.

So, instead they rang all the big coffee chains and asked them if they would consider giving out free wifi. One chain is thinking of doing this soon and the hope is that others will follow.

In the meantime, they've put a free wifi hotspot locator box on the front of their website. Type in your address and it'll tell you where you can get free wifi in your area.

Also, if you're a business or if you have a local business near you that you'd like to provide free wifi, then they've got this handy guide to how you can do it yourself. It's been written by LetsGoWifi who specialise in installing public wifi networks - so if you don't want to put things in yourself you can always contact them. Another alternative is www.free-hotspot.com who can help you install your wifi and then provide the service afterwards.
